Last May, when I came here to bag the Giant Ginkgo, I discovered this sakura too late to see it in bloom. This month, I thought I’d wait until the sakura bloomed in my town, and then the timing would be good to see this one. Sakura opened in my town on Thursday, meant this should have been in full bloom Friday. I decided to go.

And then I had a meeting in the ass end of forever that lasted until the end of time, and by the time I was free, it was dark. Then Saturday happened, and it was rainy and windy. Went on Sunday, and it was like this, past its prime. Disappointment!

Last year, there was a pole holding up a branch, but not now. Can't tell from the previous pictures if the branch it was supporting is gone, or just stronger.
